We held two Cafés, one in english and one in french, in the spring months of 2012. These cafés were designed to:

1. Increase public awareness about how the availability of more complete information on patients’ medications can contribute to safer patient care.

2. Discuss new projects that use computerized information exchanges to support the safe use of medications, and communicate changes in medications between care providers at transitions in care.

3. Review with the public the safeguards that are in place within hospitals for ensuring data security and for protecting patient confidentiality.
